Eleven lucky cricket fans from a local Sydney cricket club went head-to-head in a Twenty20 match against the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues at the SCG today (February 5).

Members of local cricket club Plumpton-Glendenning Razorbacks were the winners of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, offered through an RTA promotion.

Dennis Callen and ten of his mates tested their skills against some of the best cricketers in the country, including Phillip Hughes, Nathan Bracken, and Phil Jaques.

This ultimate cricket fan experience is thanks to the partnership between the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) and the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues to promote the RTA’s new anti-speeding campaign - the Slow Down Pledge – which calls on young drivers to take responsibility for their driving by taking a pledge not to speed. Everyone can show their support for safe driving by taking the pledge at www.slowdownpledge.com.au.

The RTA SpeedBlitz Blues batted first in a rain-effected match making 3-133 from 12 overs. Ben Rohrer top scored with 57 while Scott Henry made 45. In reply Plumpton-Glendenning were 4-53 from 5.1 overs when rain stopped play. Player of the Match Rob Callen top scored with 31.
