The NSW Women’s Second XI leaves for New Zealand this weekend for a week-long tour which includes matches against provincial teams from Auckland and Hamilton.

The 13 player touring party includes seven members of the Lend Lease Breakers squad and will be captained by NSW U/18 skipper, Hannah Trollip, who recently returned from New Zealand after playing in their senior domestic competition for the Northern Spirit.

The NSW Women’s Second XI squad to tour New Zealand is (clubs/regional zones in brackets):

Hannah Trollip (captain - Gordon)
Sarah Aley (Bankstown Sports)
Nicola Carey (St George-Sutherland)
Sohryn Carter (St George-Sutherland)
Heidi Cheadle (Gordon)
Kira Churchland (Sydney/Western)
Cailyn Fountain (St George-Sutherland)
Kath Koschel (St George-Sutherland)
Emily Leys (Gordon/Central North)
Katie Mack (Northern District)
Alison Parkin (Universities)
Kara Sutherland (Universities/North Coast)
Wui-Kwan Wong (Northern District)

Coach: Hamish Solomons; Manager: Carolyn Sheehan; Physiotherapist: Andrew Renkert

“Removing the women’s Second XI competition from the domestic calendar meant we needed to find extra development opportunities for players who were on the verge of selection for the Lend Lease Breakers, as well as for those who have been performing well in Grade cricket,” said Lend Lease Breakers Head Coach, Neil McDonald.

“This tour is all about providing young, talented players with the chance to test themselves against quality opposition in different conditions. It will help create depth in NSW cricket which is vital to the ongoing success of the Lend Lease Breakers.”
