The NSW Women’s Second XI opened their tour of New Zealand with a  six run win over Auckland in a Twenty20 match yesterday (January 30).

Lend Lease Breakers veteran, Sarah Aley, led NSW charge with the bat by scoring 48 runs out of her team’s total of 9-124, with captain Hannah Trollip the next best with 30.

Auckland made steady progress in their chase but heading into the last over they still needed 12 runs for the win. This was bowled by Aley who held them to just five runs, finishing with the impressive figures of 0-13 from four overs in the narrow victory.

Katie Mack also impressed with her leg-spin, claiming the only wicket to fall.
